Attire Guidelines for Concert Band and String Orchestra (6th graders only)
NOTE: The design above is representative of a prior shirt's design. T-shirt designs for 6th graders are determined at the start of every year. Shirts will be available for purchase through our boosters.
6th Grade Performer Guidelines:
Students in 6th grade ensembles will wear our Peterson Music T-shirt (black w/ logos)
Solid black dress shoes. No sweat pants. No Jeans.
Black dress pants
Black socks
Skirts/Dresses must be knee length or longer
Black tights or leggings should accompany all skirts/dresses
Performance attire guidelines for Concert Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble groups
The following guidelines are examples of what students could wear to concerts. These options can be mixed and matched as needed. “Concert Black” is the default for all music performances and communicate the professional expectations that accompany musical performances.
Students with specific concerns regarding concert attire should contact PMS Music staff to make accommodations as needed.
The follow options are possible combinations. The best and most preferred option is option 1, with variations as described in options 2 and 3.
Plain, black, button-down collared shirt (long sleeve) with no stripes, dots, or off-color fabrics
Black dress pants
Black dress shoes
Long black socks or stockings
No logos
No sweat pants or black jeans
Long black dress with black tights/stockings. Dress should cover the knees when seated
Solid black shoes
Black cardigan/shawl to cover arms if needed
Long black skirt (covers over knees when seated)
Black tights/stockings
